Smulders Returns To Hill Role – Twice?

Further news from the Avengers’ universe as Cobie Smulders announced that she will be reprising the role of S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill (whom she portrayed in last summer’s The Avengers) in Captain America: Winter Soldier and may also appear as the character in Joss Whedon’s S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show.
In a recent interview, Smulders commented on the secrecy surrounding the filming of Captain America: The Winter Soldier: “I’ve seen parts of [the script], but yeah I don’t know much. This is Marvel! They don’t let you know anything. It’s very watermarked scripts, heavily watermarked.”
She went on to explain that even filming dates are still up in the air: “Yeah, they don’t let you know like the day of, but they are very secretive and I think they are still figuring stuff out. I don’t know the exact dates [filming begins]. I know it’s sometime in March or June.”
Smulders is definitely eager to continue her involvement in the Avengers franchise; “Oh yeah! I’m very excited. I will do Maria Hill until they fire me and hire someone else to do it.”
As far as S.H.I.E.L.D. goes, the actor was unable to comment in much detail but did mention that “The commitments to [How I Met Your Mother] don’t affect it. And I can’t really say, but there are definite talks about it.”

So, with Clark Gregg on board as Agent Phil Coulson, we may soon being seeing our two favourite S.H.I.E.L.D agents teaming up again to take on the world – and whatever else Whedon can throw at them!
